Reading/LA- *Homework* This is the last week for our monthly menu. Please turn in the menu & book on Friday. In reading this week we are continuing to work on commas, quotations, idioms, and we are introducing simile and metaphor. Today we watched a very catchy video to help us distinguish the difference between the two.

In writing we are focusing on introductions to an opinion piece of writing. Some people use opinion and persuasive interchangeably, but there is a slight difference. I use both vocabulary words with the kids in class though. Opinion writing is simply sharing your opinion (which can be for a lot of things) but persuasive writing is when you want to persuade someone to believe your opinion is the best.
Science/Social Studies- This week we are studying Franklin D Roosevelt. Did you know he served four terms?
