Math-This week in math we will be reviewing previously taught skills, but we will also look at new skills. The new skills will not be assessed this year in third grade, but we feel the children need to be exposed to them. They have been introduced to all the skills in the third grade curriculum at this point. In this upcoming week, we will look at types of angles and triangles, and probability. We will continue to work on multiple step word problems as well.
Reading/Language Arts- We will focus on punctuation, dialogue, parts of speech, simile & metaphors, as well as idioms. In regards to reading, we will focus on fact/opinion, cause/effect, fables, folktales, and myths. These skills are again, all review for the children. We are working on refining them at this point. In addition, we continue to work on test taking strategies.
Science/Social Studies- This week, we will review latitude, longitude, types of soils, deomocracy, and supply/demand.
