Here are the wonderful plans for the week.....
Math-In math we will begin our study guide. The end of unit 6 (Measurement) test will be Tuesday, May 13th. Please continue to look over elapsed time, when to measure with mL vs L, and g vs kg (The children get confused sometimes on this.) A gram is equivalent to a paperclip, and a kg to a pair of shoes, and a mL is like an eye dropper and the L is like a large water bottle.
We will be continuing to work on our Great American speeches this week. We are now in the memorization portion of our speeches. We will also continue to take placement tests and end of year STAR tests. :)
Things to remember:
Wednesday: Bring in props for Great Americans. (Have them labeled with your name
& teacher name). We will send home bags next week for you to send in props.
Thursday: We have our only on stage rehearsal 8:45-9:30am. *This is NOT a dress
rehearsal, only our singing.
Friday: Great American program begins at 8:15am in the cafeteria. (We do not have an
evening performance like other grade levels.) Following the singing portion,
the children will make their way into the gymnasium for the 'living
museum' portion of the program. This will last until about 9:15 ish. We
plan to have the second graders come join us at that time to see what it is
like to be a Great American. ***Please make sure your child is
dressed in their costume when they come to school on Friday.
Bring a change of clothes for the remainder of the day.
If possible, we would prefer children not check out after the program as we have important plans for the remainder of the school day. :)
