Please read the following message from our SGC and make sure you take the survey and enter to win a prize:
It is a very exciting time for Sweet Apple Elementary as our School Governance Council will soon be working to create a new Strategic Plan. This plan will be a road map for the next three years at Sweet Apple and provide us a strategic focus for how we can meet the needs of our students.
Strong participation in our survey (link below) will allow our School Governance Council to utilize our charter system opportunities the best way possible and create a plan specifically for our school.
To provide additional incentive for completing this survey, we will be raffling off student prizes for families who participate! There will be an opportunity to win lunch with Mr. Allison & Ms. Alhadeff and also a chance to win homework passes! In order to be eligible, you can use Twitter and tag a picture of your completed survey screenshot to @andyallison (like Family Focus Night) OR share on FACEBOOK a screenshot of your completed survey with the @SweetApplePTO . Thank you and please know we appreciate your feedback.

In our class...
In math this week we are beginning a new unit. We are focusing on place value (just like earlier in the year) and we will be comparing numbers using the <,>, and = symbols. (Tonight's homework has the comparing piece crossed out. No need to do that yet, as it will be introduced on Wednesday.)
Reading/ELA- This week we are working on poetry in both reading and writing. The students are learning how poetry can appeal to the senses.
Science/Social Studies- Tomorrow we have a science lab on Plants, however this will be an introduction for us. We have been learning about Harriet Tubman the last week, and will begin plants later this week.
Have a great evening!
