We will be taking our end of unit test on Friday the 20th. The study guide will be coming home on Tuesday. Please continue to work on basic addition and subtraction (with regrouping), and multiple step story problems. The kids are working hard! Please remind them to look in their math journals (which are in their expandables daily) for practice. You will see many of the different types of problems we are working on if you look in their math journals. :) Thanks for all your continued support!
Reading/ELA- This week we are focusing on fables/folktales, and myths as well as point of view when it comes to reading. When looking at language arts we are focusing more on literal and non-literal phrases, as well as compound sentences. Compound sentences use coordinating conjunctions (FANBOYS-for, and, more, but, or, yet, so).
Social Studies- We are in our second week of Democracy/Government. We have learned that we are a representative democracy and that democracy started in Greece as a direct democracy. This upcoming week we will learn more about the three branches of government and the three levels (local, state, national).
